the process
In anticipation of the launch of Affirm Rewards, our points-based shopping rewards product, we needed to design a new set of category and rewards illustrations that would help guide the user through the rewards journey.
My process began by cataloging our existing icons and illustrations so that I could take an inventory of what need to be updated or created net new for the product launch.
Once the design updates or net new designs were identified, I received the user flow for Affirm Rewards so that I could better understand what the journey would look like and how we would need to visually guide the user through everything from earning rewards to redeeming rewards.
Then I sketched concepts for all of our merchant categories and the Rewards user flow, and worked with our brand team and illustrator to bring the sketches to their final ready-to-ship state.

the challenge & process
While Affirm.com, our marketing website for both B2C and B2B products, had already been designed, it did not have a component or module library from which we could easily replicate or edit pages quickly. In order to get our team to a place where we could make updates fast, I needed to take inventory of our existing website and all its design elements and work backwards to design a consistent library in Figma.
